"Come in to try our game" day

Today we´ve had people coming in to try our game, the´ve liked it! They didn´t give us any suggestios, everything worked well, but we still have to finish one level.

Some other games to compare

We've seen some other ecuation games, and the good thing about our's is that most of the other games only use first grade ecuations. And second grade ecuations, which are the most difficult ones to solve, can't be practised on the other games, but you can in ours. We also thought that the other games were very boring, and they only asked you to solve the ecuations, without any kind of entertainment. We think our game has lots of new concepts that nobody thought about when they created ecuation games.

Design process

In this first session we have thought of what the game will look like, and about what famous singers we will use. We have also chosen the program we are going to use, which is Activinspire. We have also thought about creating a relation between the ecuation's result and the singers, but we quited doing that. In the next sessions we are planning on creating the ecuations that are going to appear in the game and to start looking for pictures of the singers and objects we can relate to them. Then we will start creating the game. Some of us will be creating the game while others keep doing ecuations, look for pictures and make some recordings on Team up.
In the last session we have made lots of new things. We've almost finished creating the game, which is very good and interactive. It has 2 levels, regarding the different difficulties of the ecuations. In each page, you'll have to solve an ecuation, and you'll find a picture of the famous singer and their symbol.

Design indications

Our game is about some famous singers and their significative symbols. For example, Lady GaGa's symbol is a telephone, because of her famous song 'Telephone'. And we plan to keep doing that with  10 actual famous singers. It's going to be about ecuations, so you'll have to get through some levels of difficulty and each level is going to have a picture of a famous singer in the background. In each level you'll have to solve some ecuations and you will be able to listen to music.

Who are we?

We are 5 teenagers from 3rd of ESO from Colegio Base: Aitana Alzugaray, Olivia López, Enrique Bermejo, Matías Alonso and Alba Molina. We are going to think about ideas to create a videogame that's interesting, funny and about maths. The game's called 'Maths in it's way' and it consists of first grade and second grade ecuations.
